
Speas Resource Center is the single largest public lending institution in Western Missouri focusing on alcohol, tobacco and other drugs. Created by a joint funding effort by First Call and Speas Foundation, the center hosts a library of over 500 videotapes and DVDs. This collection is available to any individual or agency engaged in substance abuse education, prevention, treatment or research. Guidelines for renting and a catalog of videos are available by calling First Call at 816.361.5900.
The library also houses an extensive collection of books, magazines, and teaching modules covering alcohol, tobacco, and other drug topics. Speas also stocks current pamphlets, booklets, and posters, most of which are free to the public. A computer terminal with Internet access is available for research and educational purposes within the library.
